Every evening I enjoyed eating a snickers ice cream bar while watching TV because I knew it would make
Evelyn start to kick; the girls loved watching her move items I set on my tummy. I finished my bar and
immediately noticed no movement from Evelyn. I sat until 8:00 PM waiting for her to move, during this time I
expressed my concern to my husband. At 8:00 I decided I would go lay down.
I would always look forward to going to bed because I would lay and play with Evelyn! This time was different. I
waited and waited and waited until 9:00 PM when I broke out in hysterical tears, sat up in bed and screamed,
“Move Evelyn, please move for mommy.” I called my husband into our room and asked him to call the nurse
line, which he did. I spoke to a nurse, told her my symptoms, she said a doctor would call soon. We waited for
the Dr. to call, he called about 10 minutes later. He asked that I come to the hospital.
I jumped out of bed to call my sister, Cathy to take me to the hospital. Mickey (my husband) thought of course
that Evelyn was sleeping and when I called Cathy, she too said that Evelyn was sleeping. I knew my baby and I
knew something was very wrong.
Cathy arrived at my house at 9:30 PM to take me to the hospital. We arrived at Park Methodist hospital at
around 9:50 PM, we parked in the ramp and proceeded to the Emergency room entrance where they directed
us to the Labor and Delivery floor. I remember the Labor and Delivery triage floor being very quiet that evening.
After we checked in they took us to small room with a bed, a chair and equipment. The nurse, Karen asked that
I undress and put on a hospital gown.

Tuesday, June 2nd started like any other day. I woke at 7:00 AM made coffee
then sat at my computer to check email; Evelyn was bouncing, pressing and
kicking like usual, she was a very active little girl. I woke my children at 7:15 to
get them ready for school then hopped in the shower to get ready for work.
I arrived at work at 9:00 am. My day went as usual. I left work at 3:00 PM to
get home and meet my kids after school. They had their snacks, did
homework then watched a little T.V before we had to go look at a house to
rent at 5:00 PM. At 6:30 we had dinner then sat down to watch TV as family.
